Vestre brings belonging to Copenhagen’s Opera Park
This June, we’re exhibiting in one of the most well-loved public parks in Copenhagen—the Opera Park—for the 3daysofdesign festival. Why? Because openness and inclusion aren’t just design principles to us at Vestre—they’re the reason we exist. And there’s no better place to celebrate that than in a green, public space that already belongs to everyone.

“The Opera Park is popular with both locals and visitors, especially in summer, and it’s a place where people naturally gather. For Vestre, it’s the perfect environment in which to turn our mission into reality: to create designs that go beyond esthetics and invite people to pause, connect, and make the space their own,”
Design that connects us
Together with our longtime collaborators at Note design studio, we’ve created a colorful, open-air exhibition designed to spark interaction, curiosity, and a sense of belonging. Spread across four distinct zones, the installation highlights how inclusive design can invite people to feel at home—whether they’re resting, playing, reading, or just passing through.
“Our vision started with a simple but powerful question: What does belonging mean, and how can design help create that feeling? But while a sense of belonging is essential to our identity and well-being, it’s not something that can just be handed over. It’s something we feel, share, and build together. Belonging flourishes in spaces that spark curiosity, invite interaction, and embrace differences,”

The Opera Park—an urban oasis with winding paths, lush gardens and views of the harbour—provides a natural stage for this conversation. With bold blocks of colour and large-scale architectural features, Note’s layout guides visitors through the park while framing Vestre furniture in ways that emphasize openness, connection and community.
“We wanted to create just that kind of space for Vestre’s exhibition in the Opera Park—a place that feels welcoming. A space where imagination leads to connection, and where every element—furnishings, layout and colour—encourages people to pause, engage and feel at ease,”
Four zones, one message
The exhibition is divided into four zones, each of which explores the notion of belonging in different ways:
- Unity: Showcases UNITY—Vestre’s latest product release. Here, Note has created a welcoming waiting area, combining enclosed, sheltered areas with more open, inviting spaces. The entire zone is furnished exclusively with various UNITY configurations, several of which include space for plants in the modules.
- Relaxation: Here visitors can slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the view. BLOC sun loungers offer comfort, while insect hotels and a birdhouse highlight care and inclusivity for all species. A small newsstand invites reflection through Vestre’s magazine and the book Making The Plus.
- Arena: This is where design becomes dialogue. Furnishings from ten of our furniture series surround a circular platform, inviting spontaneous gatherings, music and conversation.
- Belonging: Explores themes of diversity and inclusion. Centred around Note’s PLINTH series, the oversized communal table is inspired by how food brings communities together. With benches and tables in varying heights and lengths, it invites people from all backgrounds to meet, share and connect—just like in any neighbourhood.
When intention becomes experience
We’ve worked with Note on many exhibitions before—at the Salone del Mobile, Stockholm Furniture Fair and beyond. This one might be our most open yet.
“They have a remarkable ability to decode and interpret Vestre’s intentions and focus on sustainability, and create amazing, colourful experiences that truly capture the spirit of what we do,”
By bringing people together in a public space, we’re not just showing our furniture. We’re showing what good design can do: spark a sense of belonging, create connection, and make cities more open, colourful and generous.
